Who runs this site

ThinkPuck is an independent hockey trivia game operated by Eytan Azami. For questions or data requests, use our contact form and choose Privacy request.

Your daily game

The game creates an anonymous browser identifier in a cookie called deep_ice_player. It lasts up to one year and lets us save your daily questions, answers, score, progress, and timing on our server. It helps enforce one attempt a day and calculate rankings. It is not your name or email address. Game records are retained to support your history, rankings, and aggregate player statistics.

Your browser also stores sound settings and a local copy of game progress. Clearing browser data removes that device's identifier and preferences; it does not automatically remove past server records. If you request deletion, we may need information to locate and verify the records involved.

Site statistics

We collect aggregate page-view and share-button counts by day, page, broad referral category, and device type. This system does not set an analytics identifier or save full referring URLs, IP addresses, or raw browser user-agent strings in our analytics tables. It does not identify unique visitors. Player and returning-player totals come from the game's existing anonymous identifiers.

The site respects Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track for optional page-view and share tracking. You can also turn that tracking off for this browser below. Essential game saving and aggregate game-result statistics continue to work.

Messages and sponsor inquiries

If you contact us, we store your name, email, optional company, message, submission time, and any sponsorship preferences you provide so the site owner can review and respond. A separate one-day browser cookie limits repeated messages. Messages older than 90 days are removed when a new inquiry is received; the owner dashboard only displays the last 90 days. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

Hosting and other services

Our hosting infrastructure processes connection information needed to deliver and secure the website. The analytics and inquiry data described here are stored with the site's hosting service. Only the authorized site owner can access the dashboard and inquiry inbox.

Advertising

Direct sponsor cards may appear on the home and results screens. We record aggregate sponsor-card impressions and link clicks by date, campaign, and placement when optional tracking is enabled. These counts do not contain names, email addresses, or an additional analytics identifier. A sponsor receives information from your browser only if you choose to visit their website. Sponsor reporting older than 90 days is removed when new sponsor activity is recorded. We do not share player identifiers or inquiry details with sponsors.

Google AdSense integration is prepared. When enabled by the owner following Google’s approval, Google ads may appear on our rules, scoring, game guide, and About pages. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads. Where required, a consent message presents your choices. See how Google uses advertising information and Google ad preferences. On pages displaying Google ads, use “Google ad privacy choices” to reopen consent options when available. Turning off optional tracking on this page also prevents new Google ad requests after navigation or reload. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track also suppress optional ad requests. Google Analytics is not installed.
